Due to a little unexpected transaction I was able to finally get an HD LCD TV. This is a 40″ 1080p Sony Bravia. It’s a beautiful screen and when playing SD content it is exactly the same size as my old 32″ Sony (with the black bars on the sides).

Don’t get too jealous though (if at all). HD content is really thin right now. My DVDs and TV shows look pretty crappy. Like over-compressed JPGs. My 2 Blu-ray movies are not enough. Also HD is hit or miss. Some looks great… some looks grainy. I think it’s due to filters or compression type. With older movies you can actually see the film grain. Luckily there is a sharpness setting on the TV. Then there is the fact that not all HD content is 1080p. A lot of it is 720p, which is not bad looking but it’s not taking full advantage of the TV’s native resolution.

Right now I’m enjoying my PS3 and XBox 360 games. All XBox 360 games that I have and seen are 1080p but the PS3 is hit or miss. Many PS3 games are only 720p (shame on Sony). Luckily my more favorite games on the PS3 like GTA 4 and Midnight Club (both Rockstar games) are 1080p. I’ve also been playing a lot of Fable 2 on the XBox 360.

At some point (when I’m not dirt broke) I want to get the wire to connect my computer to this screen. Playing my PC games on there would be really sweet. My computer already plays games at 1920×1200 with full settings thanks to my SLI video cards. So 1080p will be no problem.

Anyway… back to work… (poor)

After receiving a package today that I had actually forgotten about I came to the realization I might actually have an addiction problem. Inside the package was a game box. The game, Lord of the Rings Online. Why do I say I’m addicted? Because when I looked at one of my bookcase shelves I notice that I have a growing collection of these games.

I laid them all out on the floor and took this picture. That’s a few games if you ask me. This is also not counting the many digital downloaded games I have. They are all MMO’s. Online worlds to which people like me escape to spending countless hours.

This “addiction” started way back when a friend introduced me to Anarchy Online. That was the first MMO I played and the beginning of the long journey… into this, um, hobby.

There is little point to this post, I guess, but it’s a little glimpse into what I do when I’m not drawing something. Now I have to go and… play that new game I got.
